The 15th Annual Operanation is Back With a Fairytale Themed Gala

Spring is here (yay!) and we finally have the weather to confirm this, which means one thing – event season is among us. There are only a handful of events that take place in the city that can incite a bit of FOMO if I have to miss out on it and the Canadian Opera Company’s annual Operanation event ranks high on the list. It is the first big event in the new year where people are actually excited to dress up and go out because the snow and cold weather is behind us.

This year on May 16th the COC will host their 15th annual Operanation event inside the Four Seasons Performing Arts Centre. With this year’s theme being inspired by the fairytale stories of next year’s opera stage, the evening is no doubt going to be a whimsical night full of surprises, adventure and voices of the company’s opera stars.

I can’t wait and I plan on taking the theme seriously when it comes to what I am wearing. I am thrilled to be given the chance to wear something magical from one of my favourite Canadian designer’s, Nikki Yassemi of Narces. I plan on bringing you guys along for the ride via my stories during my visit to her studio for my upcoming fittings and plan on letting you all in on the fun by helping me choose a look for the big night.

If you’ve been lucky enough to attend Operanation before ,you already know it’s THE party of the season and tickets sell crazy FAST.  The COC was kind enough to give my followers access to tickets for this spectacular evening at a reduced rate HERE or you can access ticket sales via the link in my IG bio and use the code “SASHA” to grab yours. I can’t wait to see some of y’all there!

2016 Lolë White Tour Toronto Giveaway

Yoga has come in and out of my life over the last several years and played an integral role in keeping me injury free as a tennis player, helped me on my road to recovery after being diagnosed with fibromyalgia and has allowed me to find a connection with my mind, body and breath. Although my practice hasn’t been as consistent as I would like, there is one thing that remains the same  – every time I get back into it my first thought is always, “I should have never stopped” because I just feel so amazing afterwards.

Through yoga you’re body becomes stronger, leaner and more flexible. Most see changes in terms of their body fat, are able to cope with stress better, learn to slow down and be more mindful, and let go of things that no longer serve them. And interestingly enough, the more more you become in tune with your mind and body, you actually begin to listen to your intuition and inner voice more often.

I’ve tried many yoga studios in Toronto and definitely have my favourites that I hit up; Moksha Yoga, Misfit Studios, 889 Yoga, Chi Junky and believe it or not, the yoga classes at Equinox are pretty damn great…but there’s nothing like doing a flow outside, especially close to water.

Lululemon & The Remix Project Presents: Beats and Balance

Lululemon Beats and Balance event

It is very rare that I post events on my site but every once in a while something so unique pops up that I get really excited about and feel compelled to share.  This weekend Lululemon is hosting the ultimate fitness event here in Toronto that is not to be missed. Fitness is usually at the forefront of everyone’s minds at the beginning of the new year with new goals and resolutions set and trust me, this is the perfect way to get that extra motivation to stay on track. With a mashup of music, athletics, art and an community workout, it will definitely be a day unlike anything you have experienced before hosted by Tyronne Edwards from E! Entertainment and Sarah Taylor.

WHAT: Lululemon will be bringing together some of Toronto’s top fitness instructors to conduct several classes throughout the day with special live music performances. After the final class of the day, guests will be able to drink and nosh on refreshments while listening to tunes spun by DJ Brendan Fallis (otherwise known as Hannah Bronfman’s handsome boyfriend).

Lululemon Beats and Balance

WHEN: Saturday January 24th, 2015 at Arcadian Court in Toronto. Four classes will take place at 11am, 1pm, 3pm and 5pm.

*Saturday’s event marks the kick off of Lululemon’s involvement with The Remix Project, an non-profit organization created in Toronto whose programs help disadvantaged youth from marginalized communities who are trying to enter into creative industries.

I definitely look forward to attending this Saturday and supporting this amazing project. If you’re interesting in coming out as well, you can register to secure your spot here  – tickets are only $10 each and 100% of the ticket sales will be donated to The Remix Project Toronto.
